History
Jack Stewart was born to an agricultural family at Kahoka in Northeast Missouri. In addition to early hard farm work he was schooled in public speaking and parliamentary procedure. A Cum Laude and distinguished military graduate of the University of Missouri in Columbia, he also received his law degree there and then served in the Army Judge Advocate General's (JAG) Corps from 1965-1970, including three years of military trial practice in Germany where he attained the rank of Major and was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal.
He returned to Missouri locating in the Jefferson County seat town of Hillsboro where he and his wife raised their three professionally degreed sons.
His career with the Wegmann Law Firm (as it is now nicknamed) involves personal injury litigation. Jack is a long time member of the Missouri Association of trial attorneys (MATA).
Mr. Stewart's present practice at the firm concentrates on estate planning and probate and estate administration. He also is highly involved in real estate law and state, local and municipal law. His long experience in those areas have given him vast legal and practical experience in assisting clients to achieve wise estate planning that does not disrupt their personal life and the enjoyment of it unnecessarily. His early career did involve substantial litigation and now that background can be utilized in representing clients and transactions involving state, local and Federal government.
Mr. Stewart has a reputation for his ability to work with elected officials, local government agencies, private individuals and industries to further the goals of his clients. In representing five school districts, a city, a county health center and a county library district, he is familiar with local government throughout the metropolitan area with particular knowledge of Jefferson County.
